Each year $750,000 of venue hire is available to community groups to host their events at either the Dunedin Centre and Town Hall or Forsyth Barr Stadium. The second round of applications for the 2020/21 Community Access Grant are about to open on 1 September. This funding round is for events happening between 1 January and 30 June 2021.

Applications can be made online from 1 September and the digital application process has been improved and simplified to make is as easy as possible for those community groups applying.

The funding has been used to support upcoming events such as Norma.101 (30 August), My Step Up Challenge (11 October), Rejoice! Music for Christmas (28 November), and Girls Cricket Festival (7 December).
